Service Overview

The Proven Rubber Membrane

EPDM (ethylene propylene diene monomer) has been installed on commercial flat roofs for over 50 years — with good reason. Its exceptional flexibility allows it to accommodate structural movement, and its resistance to temperature extremes means it performs equally well in Pasadena's summer heat and rare freezing conditions. EPDM remains a cost-effective and proven choice, particularly for large low-slope applications where cost per square foot matters.

  • Ballasted, mechanically attached, and fully adhered installation options
  • Available in 45-mil and 60-mil thicknesses — we specify 60-mil as standard
  • Excellent resistance to ozone and UV degradation
  • Lower material cost than TPO or PVC — significant savings on large roof areas

Cost-Effective for Large Footprints

EPDM's material cost and simple installation make it one of the most economical choices for large commercial rooftops — warehouses, big-box retail, distribution centers, and industrial buildings where roof area is large and cost efficiency is critical. Properly maintained EPDM systems routinely last 20–30 years.

What We Offer

EPDM System Options

Ballasted EPDM

The most economical installation method — loose-laid membrane held down by washed river rock. Fast to install, easy to repair, and ideal for large flat roofs with adequate structural capacity for ballast load.

Fully Adhered EPDM

Bonded membrane for buildings where ballast load is a concern, or where a cleaner aesthetic is required. Superior wind-uplift performance and no movement under high-wind conditions.

Mechanically Attached EPDM

A cost-effective middle ground — fastened to the deck through the insulation. Good wind resistance without the weight of ballast or cost of full adhesive application.

EPDM Recover Systems

New EPDM installed over existing roofing systems that are structurally sound but cosmetically or functionally degraded — extending the roof system without tear-off costs.
